Puppy Adoption Info
We are not commercial puppy producers. Being only hobbiests, you will never see us produce more than one litter every three to five years and we breed only when we intend to keep at least one from the litter. Therefore, we commit considerable time and pride in the dogs that we produce. Our goal is to breed dogs that conform to the Labrador Retriever Breed Standard as is defined by the Labrador Retriever Club and the American Kennel Club (AKC). The parent dogs used in our breeding program are AKC registered and possess AKC awards and titles bestowed upon them by authoratitive judges who considered them to be correct representatives of the Labrador Retriever breed. Therefore, our dogs directly reflect the visable characteristics, temperament, and working abilities of the breed.
Careful planning and intense research go into each of our breedings. We ensure that our puppies will not be affected by hereditary diseases and that the risks of incurring genetic orthopedic issues are reduced, by selection of breeding dogs that have had hips and elbows certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), eyes cleared by an ophthalmologist annually, are tested and cleared for major hereditary DNA diseases, and have had their hearts evaluated by echo cardiogram/color doppler analysis for any hereditary heart disease. We unconditionally guarantee that our puppies will not be AFFECTED by any of the genetic DNA or cardiac disorders that we test for.
Our puppies are born and raised in our home where they receive individual and group socialization. Puppies leave for their forever homes when they are at least 8 weeks of age, only after receiving a vet health check, age appropriate vaccinations, wormings, and are microchipped. The puppies are provided with group and individualized care, love, and attention. They routinely encounter common home situations, i.e. kids, household appliances, other dogs, car rides, outdoor environments, etc., providing them with a sound foundation for becoming independent, confident, well rounded companions and family members.
We always get first choice in any litter. We evaluate conformation of the puppies starting at 6 to 7 weeks to identy those with greater show potential. At that stage, the differences between puppies with show potential vs less show pontenial are extremely subtle and would not be detected by the general public. Rest assured that all the puppies are equally beautiful.
Wait list and Deposit
We open a wait list only after obtaining veterinary confirmation, via ultrasound, that our girl is pregnant. Email or phone us to be added to the wait list. We will capture your preference for puppy color and sex. The wait list priority will be based on the order that we receive requests. We will provide frequent email updates to wait list members throughout the pregnancy and puppy growth.
A deposit is required once the litter is one week old. We then know the exact colors, sexes of the puppies and can align them to wait list requests. Upon confirmation of this actual availability, we require families to provide a non-refundable $500 deposit to confirm their commitment for a puppy. The deposit is deducted from the overall purchase price. We accept Venmo, Paypal, cash, or certified checks as forms of payment.
Puppy pickup/departure
Puppies are ready to depart with their new families only after a minimum of eight weeks of age. We will coordinate and set appointments with each adopting family to meet with and pickup
their new family member. You should at least plan to bring the following: a collar, lead, water dish/water (depending on your driving distance), clean up bags, paper towels.
Your pup will depart with his/her take home information package that includes all vaccination information, bill of sale and health guarantee contract, AKC registration, microchip registration, and
initial bag of puppy food.
We look forward to hearing from you. We are selective about where our puppies are placed and are here to provide our puppy families with lifelong guidance and assistance.
Pet puppies sold with AKC limited registration only. Show potential and co-ownership inquiries are welcome.
